Joanna is a wonderful teacher and it is an absolute pleasure to learn from her. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging and generous, she also knows how to adapt perfectly to students' needs and objectives while always creating a fun, safe environment.
Teresa, acting student.
Joanna came to our school to deliver a devising workshop for our Middle Years students. From the offset students were engaged, enthused and eager to challenge themselves. Joanna has a naturally positive demeanor which enables students to relax and she immediately built an atmosphere of trust. Our students explored a variety of activities and Joanna was able to make links to the Units of Enquiry we are currently studying. The students will be using the activities to inform their own performances. I can thoroughly recommend Joanna’s workshops and I look forward to working with her in the future.
Carleigh Akiti, Amity International School, Netherlands.

Joanna is a delight to work with. She is passionate about acting and working with young people, she is reliable, she is flexible and even has humour! We have worked together on a regular basis and her professional approach is never a question! I can honestly say that whenever I organize a workshop or performance for her, I'm sure that she will deliver and even delight everybody on location.

The Power of You
Everyone has something to offer the world, from their sense of humour to their intellect or talent. However, one of the most powerful tools at any person’s disposal is a simple one: to make a good first impression.

The ability to be comfortable in your own skin, confident in your own person and proud of your own voice is a skill that transcends the classroom or workplace – your inner confidence can be the support you need to help you embrace all aspects of life, no matter how daunting.

Performers are not always naturally confident, but we know how to make our presence felt, our voices heard and our stories engaging. Through acting games and exercises, your students can learn the skills needed to make others sit-up and listen.

Storytelling

Experiencing Shakespeare
What makes a great story?

We know that a compelling narrative and engaging characters can be far more effective at connecting with others than reams of facts or lists of information. A good storyteller brings their audience with them on a journey.

In this workshop, students learn how to work together, using their voice and bodies to create and share imaginative stories and characters. Through fun games and exercises, students will suprise themselves with their creative thinking, and learn how to most effectively share their ideas with an audience.
Available for ages 6 - adult
Recommended workshop length: 90 minutes
Recommended group size: 15-20 participants
The best way to connect with Shakespeare plays is to perform them.
In this workshop students will experience speaking Shakespearean phrases, find clues in the text (of your choice) about character and movement, and practice being actors and directors.
The aim is to not merely understand the meaning of a scene, but to connect with its themes and atmosphere. Shakespeare is still performed today because people still resonate with it today.
